PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously operating inkjet printer that does not require the provision of a sensing means to sense the running out of an ink in a plurality of ink tanks and a display means or the like to display the running out of an ink, reduces restrictions on ink tank installation places and improves the degree of freedom of layout of a printer mechanism. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer 100 has an ink supply control means for making a plurality of ink tanks 3 and 4 communicate with a single recording head 1 to supply inks, supplying an ink to the recording head 1 from one of the plurality of ink tanks 3 and 4 and switching from one ink tank to another ink tank to supply an ink from the another ink tank when the ink tank runs out of an ink. The ink supply control means controls the supply of an ink to ensure that an ink tank constantly arranged in the same place from among the ink tanks 3 and 4 runs out of an ink first.
