PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which the opening ratio is improved and which can obtain bright and high-contrast display. SOLUTION: When alignment of liquid crystal molecules in a pixel is divided into a plurality of fractions by using an alignment dividing means, a boundary line of the alignment is produced in a certain position in the pixel. Then a drain signal line 54 is formed as superposed on the boundary line so as to reduce the light-shielding region in the pixel and to improve the opening ratio. Further, leaking of light due to disturbance in the alignment can be prevented by the drain signal line 54, which increases the contrast.
