PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope device for securing a wide work space without moving an objective lens along the optical axis. SOLUTION: The microscope device comprises a lighting optical system 10 which irradiates a living sample S with the illumination light from a light source part 1, an observation optical system 20 for detecting the light from the living sample S, a fixed stage 2 where the living sample S is mounted, and a slider 4 which is mounted with the observation optical system 10 and moves the observation optical system 10 between a detection position (X=0) and a non-detection position (X=D) of the observation optical system 10.
