PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating unit for electronic device, which is provided with a rotary panel having an operating surface and capable of fixing the rotary panel without loading any load on a driving force transmitting system. SOLUTION: The rotary panel 100 is provided with a packaging surface 101 and an operating surface 102, which are arrayed in a rotating direction, and a cam 103L with a straight line part 103S and a gear 104 are fixed to the rotary panel 100. A reduction gear 315 gives a rotation driving force to the rotary panel 100 through a gear 100 in conjunction with a worm wheel 312. The rotary panel 100 is rotated in accordance with the rotation of the worm wheel 312. When the straight line 103S in the cam 103L meets with the first lever unit 122 of a lock lever 121L, a guide 314b guides the pin 124 of the lock lever 121L to engage the first lever unit 122 interlocked with the worm wheel with the straight line part 103S and lock the rotary panel 100 so as not to be turned.
