PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch in which optical insertion loss due to a reflection mirror is small and a more stable optical signal is available in a long-term operation of the optical switch. SOLUTION: The optical switch is provided with: a rotation shaft; a rotating body fixed on the rotation shaft; a shielding board which is fixed on the rotating body and has a reflection face; a first and a second optical fiber parts in which a pair of optical fibers are arranged so as to face each other on a common optical axis; an optical branching part which branches an input into two lines of the first optical fiber part and the send optical fiber part; and an optical merging part which merges the light branched into two lines. The switch is characterized in that the switch functions as a 2×2 switch by turning one part of the inputted light branched into two parts with the optical branching part into transmission light, turning the other part of the inputted light into reflection light of which the optical path is changed with a reflection board of the shielding board by inserting and retracting the shielding board in/from the gap between the pair of the optical fibers in the first or second optical fiber part, and merging both parts of the light with the optical merging part and outputting the light.
