PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus constituted so that a projecting part is arranged at the end face of an imaging unit in an inserting direction into an outer packaging member, and an opening part through which the projecting part projects is formed on the surface opposite to a diaphragm aperture of the outer packaging member formed by drawing, then, the imaging unit can be inserted and stored in the outer packaging member without the interference of the projecting part with the outer packaging member. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with the imaging unit (22) and the metal outer packaging member (1) for storing the inserted imaging unit, wherein the imaging unit is provided with the projecting part (24) projecting from the end face on the end face in the inserting direction to the outer packaging member, and the outer packaging member is formed by drawing, and the member is provided with the opening part (20) on the face opposite to the diaphragm aperture, and the projecting part projects over the opening part.
