PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus for ensuring consecutiveness between a moving picture and audio at consecutive imaging parts. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes: an image coding means for coding a moving picture signal by using an inter-image coding system and an intra-image coding system; an audio coding means for coding an audio signal; a recording means for recording the coded moving picture signal and audio signal to a recording medium; and a control means for controlling the recording medium to stop the recording of the moving picture signal and to stop the recording of the audio signal after recording the audio signal for a period longer than that of the moving picture signal.
