PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize assembling of an optical connector onto an optical fiber tip simply and at low cost. SOLUTION: An optical connector 3 is provided with a clamp section which holds an optical fiber between a pair of elements that are divided into halves. A connector holder 2 (an optical fiber connecting tool) has a intermediate insertion member 21 that is put between the elements of the clamp section so as to open the elements and the connector holder 2 is mounted onto the optical connector 3 to realize an optical connector 1 having the connector holder and an optical connector 1 having the tool.
