PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for color matching, capable of calculating or indicating the proper compounding ratio of a transparent coating component and respective basic coloring materials, as to a non-hiding paint comprising the transparent coating component and the respective basic coloring materials. SOLUTION: In this method for the color matching for the non-hiding paint comprising the transparent coating component and the respective basic coloring materials to be applied onto a substrate material, a sample color data including brightness L*STis acquired, the brightness L*0of the substrate material is acquired, approximation color sample applied object data of a color close to that of the sample data is selected, and the recommended compounding ratio of a recommended paint same in the compounding ratio of the fellow basic coloring materials and different in total compounding ratio DRE, with respect to an approximation color sample paint is obtained, using the brightnesses L*0, L*ST, brightness L* of an approximation color sample applied object, and total compounding ratio D of the respective basic coloring materials in the approximation color sample paint.
