摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile unit detection device, in which the detection output does not depend on the change in the gap between a magnetic material mobile unit and a magnetosensitive element, using a magnetic field vector detection type spin-valve GMR element which detects magnetic field components parallel and antiparallel to the pin-layer magnetization direction, as the magnetosensitive element. SOLUTION: The mobile unit detection device comprises a gearwheel 1 as the magnetic material mobile unit, having at least one projection or depression, a bias magnet 5 which generates magnetic field, and spin-valve giant magnetoresistive elements R1 to R4, the resistance value of which changes, in response to the magnetic field changed by the gearwheel 1. The spin-valve type giant magnetoresistive elements R1 to R4 constitute a bridge circuit, in which the pin-layer magnetization direction of the paired spin-valve giant magnetoresistive elements are arranged antiparallel to each other.
