<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain generation of self-excited oscillation in a steering wheel by raising a gain and improving operation responsiveness of a motor when steering torque is large. <P>SOLUTION: A control unit 10 is provided with a phase lead compensation filter 20 for leading a phase of a necessary steering assist force signal for a predetermined amount based on a detection torque value of a torque sensor 5. The filter comprises a low pass filter LPF, first and second high pass filters HPF1 and 2, and three gains K<SB>L</SB>, K<SB>H1</SB>and K<SB>H2</SB>in correspondence with the respective filters. By adjusting the respective gain values of the respective high pass filters in accordance with an oil pressure, a frequency band whereby the phase can be led without raising the gain value can be extended. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
