PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic formed parts which is manufactured easily and excellent in both strength and stiffness. SOLUTION: The hydraulic formed parts 11 is made of a metal tube workpiece T1 having a closed section structure, and has a reduced diameter part 13 narrower than the other part of the metal tube workpiece T1 and a projected part 17 projecting from the outer peripheral surface of the reduced diameter part 13. The projected part 17 that serves as a flange for joining with the other parts is formed by applying hydraulic pressure on the outer peripheral surface side of the metal tube workpiece T1. Such a flange 17 for joining with the other parts is connected by spot welding to the other parts 21. The hydraulic formed parts 11 can be formed, for example, using metal cores 41, 42 equipped with a small diameter section 45 for forming a reduced diameter part and a projection 47 arranged on the outer surface of the small diameter section 45 for forming a projected part. In this case, the metal cores 41, 42 are arranged inside the metal tube workpiece T1 and hydraulic pressure is applied on the outer peripheral surface side of the tube. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
