SPARK IGNITION TYPE DIRECT-INJECTION ENGINE HAVING DEFORMED MULTI-HOLE INJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark ignition type direct-injection engine (SIDI) having a combustion chamber partly demarcated by the recess of a piston bowl and an injector for the engine. SOLUTION: This spark ignition type direct-injection engine comprises an injection nozzle having spray holes of 2.0 or less in L/D (length to diameter) ratio. The injection nozzle comprises an inside sack and an end part wall having partially spherical inner part and outer surface formed about a common center. The pattern of the spray holes includes a semi-circle formed by an arc with end parts connected to each other through a straightline. The spray hole comprises an outlet opening separated along the arc and located slightly under the straightline. The spray holes positioned on the semi-circle extend from the common center, and the spray holes under the straightline comprises an axis extending from the upper side of the common center.
