PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole structure exchanging method which is carried out in a short construction period, and does not mar the appearance of a pavement surface. SOLUTION: The manhole structure exchanging method is provided for exchanging an upper structure 4 of a manhole structure 2 laid in a pavement 1, for another one, and carried out in the following manner. First a circular cutting schedule line L1 drawn at a location about 1 cm away from a peripheral surface of the upper structure 4 is drilled by a cylindrical blade 11 to divide the upper structure 4 into a peripheral portion and a central portion, and the central portion is removed, followed by strongly driving the peripheral portion remaining in the pavement surface 1 by a hammer or the like, to thereby break and remove the same. Thereafter another upper structure is inserted into a hole formed in the road surface. The upper structure laid in the pavement 1 may be cut and divided by a disk-shaped blade.
