Front end structure for a vehicle with an impact damper of a front bumper extending over the whole width of the vehicle and having a sensor fitted into the damper

The front end structure has a front bumper (12) with an impact damper (16) extending across the whole width of the vehicle. An impact sensor (22), esp. for detecting the impact of a pedestrian, has a sensor strip (20) which runs at least partly along the front bumper and which is responsive to mechanical deformation. The impact damper is formed as a plastic molded part. A sensor receptacle (18) is formed in this to receive the sensor strip. Independent claims also cover a vehicle provided with such a construction.
