摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and highly reliable air-cooling mechanism 6 exhibiting excellent cooling performance in a high output rotary electric machine system employing a semiconductor power converter. <P>SOLUTION: A generator 1 comprises a main rotary machine 2, a regulator 3, a rectifier circuit (three-phase bridge) 4 which is a semiconductor power converter, and an AC exciting fan motor 5. The fan motor 5 is disposed in a casing 60 fastened to the rear end part of a housing 20 and three-phase power is supplied from the armature winding 25 of the main rotary machine 2 to the armature winding 52 of the fan motor 5. A rotating magnetic field is formed in the armature winding 52 and the fan impeller part 50 is rotated. The number of poles of the main rotary machine 2 and the number of poles of the fan motor 5 have a ratio of 16/8=2, and the fan motor 5 rotates at a rotational speed two times as high as that of the main rotary machine 2 during low speed rotation. A load on the fan impeller part 50 increases during high speed rotation and the rotational speed of a cage rotor 55 which is an asynchronous apparatus decreases gradually from the synchronous speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
