<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance rigidity of a coupling of a framework while lightening a weight of the vehicle body by thinning a side member outer functioning as an outer panel of the vehicle body. <P>SOLUTION: In this vehicle body structure, a bottom end of a side member outer 1 constituting an outer wall of a pillar is jointed with a locker inner 2, and a reinforcement 3 reinforcing the pillar is installed inside the side member outer 1. A flange 3a installed to the reinforcement 3 is jointed with the locker inner 2, and a flange 1a installed to the side member outer 1 is jointed with the flange 3a of the reinforcement 3, so that the flange 1a of the side member outer 1 is coupled with the locker inner 2 via the flange 3a of the reinforcement 3. Therefore, when the weight of the vehicle body is reduced by thinning the side member outer 1, rigidity of the coupling of the locker inner 2 as a frame member and the reinforcement 3 is not deteriorated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
