<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a compact solenoid valve which is arranged in a small space. <P>SOLUTION: The solenoid valve comprises a valve housing 10 having two sealing seat portions, a rectangular chamber 26 and a rod armature 28, the armature being stored in the chamber and previously loaded by a return spring 50 so as to be located at one of two switching positions, and a solenoid device 12 abutting on the valve housing at its side opposed to the sealing seat portion. The armature has a dull edge portion 30 turnably mounted in opposition to the solenoid device. The return spring 50 makes the armature engage into a cavity portion 44 at a portion of the armature opposed to the sealing seat portion and stabilizes it at a position on the valve housing. In the solenoid valve, the armature is movably inserted into the chamber, the dull edge portion of the armature is arranged on a flat supporting surface 24 without the need for stabilizing the position, the dull edge portion defines a pivotal shaft in a plane forming the flat supporting surface, and the position of the pivotal shaft is defined with a balance given by all supporting force and friction force resulting from the strength of the return spring. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
