PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost, improve in brightness, and reduce consumption power of a display device. SOLUTION: The is provided with a plurality of lower electrodes arranged in a row (or a column), an insulating layer forming a protective insulating layer coating a part other than an electron emission part on the lower electrodes and the electron emission part, a plurality of upper bus electrodes with the electron emission part opened, and upper electrodes fitted on each bus electrode and the electron emission parts. The plurality of upper bus electrodes have stepped parts as eaves extended outside from an outside face contrary to the electron emission part side of the bus electrodes, and each upper electrode is provided with a first base plate cut off from the stepped eaves part of the upper bus electrode and processed for each upper bus electrode, a frame member, and a second base plate having a phosphor pattern, of which space surrounded by the first base plate, the frame member and the second base plate is in a vacuum state.
