PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromate-free surface treating agent of an Al-Zn alloy plated steel plate with the excellent performance such as corrosion resistance, appearance quality and workability equivalent to a surface treating agent by a chromate treatment film. SOLUTION: In a chromate-free surface-treated Al-Zn system alloy plated steel plate of excellent corrosion resistance, workability and appearance quality, a surface treatment film consisting mainly of at least one vanadium compound (A) with four-valent, phosphate and/or phosphoric compound (B), at least one metallic composition (C) selected among Al, Mg, and Zn, and water-soluble organic resin and/or water-dispersive organic resin(D), wherein the organic resin (D) is copolymer resin formed of (a) styrene, (b) meta-acrylic acid, (c) (meta) acrylic ester with alkyl chain of 1 to 6 C, and (d) vinyl monomer to be copolymerized with these compositions (a) to (c), the compositions (a) to (c) are prepared to a predetermined ratio, the surface treatment of deposition of the vanadium compound (A) in terms of metal V is 1-100 mg/m<SP>2</SP>, and the deposition of organic resin (D) is 0.5-5 g/m<SP>2</SP>, is provided on the surface of an Al-Zn system alloy plated steel plate with Al in a plating film being 25-75 mass%.
