PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with a handy shoulder strap. SOLUTION: The spring constant of a power spring 10035 which gives take-up force to a strap take-up reel 10036 for taking up the shoulder strap 1001 in a shoulder strap mechanism 10 for lifting a vacuum cleaner body is set so that the take-up force is not so large as a vacuum cleaner body is floated till the whole shoulder strap is paid out of the strap take-up reel when a user draws out the shoulder strap from the strap take-up reel in such a way as pulling up the strap while holding a shoulder pad 1002.
