A prosthetic device for the teeth of sheep and cattle comprises a curved member 10 which fits over the teeth and which has at least one slit 19, Fig. 2, for purposes of adjusting the member on the teeth. An adhesive cement may be placed in the cavity 13, Fig. 3, beneath the curved member. In order to secure the member to the teeth, the device may be provided with one or more pins around which tensioning wires may be wound (Figs. 6-10, not shown), or a slot in which tensioning wires may be anchored (Fig. 11, not shown). Split pins may be used to secure the front of the curved member to the rear thereof (Figs. 12, 13, not shown); alternatively, screws may be used with or without clamping bars and nuts (Figs. 14-20, not shown). The curved member may also be secured in position by means of claws formed from the curved member (Figs. 21-23, not shown). The curved member may be made of brass or a hard plastics material having a metal strip inserted along its biting surface (Fig. 24, not shown). |
