DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL

A dye-sensitized solar cell is characterized by comprising a first base having a light-transmitting first substrate, a light-transmitting conductive layer formed on a surface of the first substrate, and a semiconductor electrode formed on a surface of the conductive layer and having a sensitizing dye, a second base having a second substrate and a catalyst layer formed on a surface of the second substrate which second base is so arranged that the catalyst layer faces the semiconductor electrode, an electrolyte layer formed between the semiconductor electrode and the catalyst layer, and a collector electrode containing tungsten or a pair of collector electrodes at least one of which contains tungsten for collecting electrons from the semiconductor electrode. This dye-sensitized solar cell has a photoelectric conversion efficiency which is sufficient for practical use, and is excellent in durability since corrosion of the collector electrode is suppressed.
