PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately stop rotating pieces at a desired position to be stopped. SOLUTION: The turning base 1 is provided with rotating pieces 3 on a fixed base 2 in a freely turnable way, the rotating pieces 3 are driven by a motor M, the motor M is connected to a control means, which controls the rotary drive of the motor M. A part to be sensed is formed on one of the fixed base 2 and the rotating pieces 3 depending on a position to be stopped, and a sensor means for sensing the part to be sensed is provided to the other, and the length from a middle part of the part to be sensed to its end along the rotative direction of the rotating pieces 3 is selected to be a length L equivalent to a rotating amount of the rotating pieces 3 by the inertia. When sensing the end of the part to be sensed in the rotating state of the rotating pieces 3, the sensor means transmits a signal of urging the control means to stop the rotation of the motor M to the control means.
