PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which an aging treatment for stabilizing the dimension of a cylinder block, can surely be performed in a simple constitution for a short period of time. SOLUTION: The method includes stabilizing the dimension by forming the cylinder block 1 obtained by casting in a cylinder liner 11 with an aluminum alloy 12 and performing the aging treatment to the cylinder block 1. In the aging treatment, temperature of the cylinder block is raised to about 275-380°C and kept for about 10-0.5 min and thereafter, cooled. Then, a high frequency heating coil 2 is inserted into a bore part 10 in the cylinder block 1, and a prescribed current is supplied to this coil 2 and the cylinder block 1 is heated with this coil 2 to perform the aging treatment.
