<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably control both of a deployment shape and inner pressure of an air bag using a supporting string. <P>SOLUTION: One ends of supporting strings 47, 49 are fixed at three corners 32a projectable outward in a radial direction of an air bag 32, and the other ends are fixed to a mounting part of the air bag 32 slidably via a slit 44a formed on a rear face of an occupant-opposing face of the air bag 32, so that a developing shape of the air bag can be controlled into a flat shape in a forward and backward direction by a tension of the supporting strings 47, 49 at the time of deployment. When the occupant-opposing face of the deployed air bag 32 restrains the occupant to heighten the inner pressure, the supporting strings 47, 49 are loosened and slide in the slit 44a so as to swell the corners 32a of the air bag outward in the radial direction, so that increase of the inner pressure of the air bag 32 can be restrained to softly restrain the occupant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
