A MEASURING PROCESS FOR LIGHT SCATTERING DISTORTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a useful practical application of the high-precision performance of the Brillouin scattering measurement. SOLUTION: Steps of an improvement program comprise the confirmation that detected Brillouin scattering light is in a vicinity of measuring objects of an optical fiber sensor, followed by the confirmation that the spectral band width of the Brillouin scattering is a proper minimum value, and that the spectral band width is a proper minimum value and followed by the computation of the spectral line shift of the Brillouin scattering light. Searching the minimum value makes it possible to avoid detection of an unsuitable spectral line shift of the Brillouin scattering light due to a superposition of the Brillouin scattering light in a distortion domain with uniform distortion.
