PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a bad influence exerted by heat applied to a recording medium, even if a photoirradiation device is kept lit on standby. SOLUTION: This image recording apparatus is equipped with: a carrying mechanism for supporting and carrying the recording medium P; recording heads 13, 14, 15 and 16 wherein nozzles for ejecting photo-curing ink toward the recording medium P supported by the carrying mechanism are formed; the photoirradiation device 8 which is arranged near the recording heads and on a downstream side in the direction of carrying by the carrying mechanism with respect to the recording heads, and which applies light to the ink reaching the recording medium P, so as to cure the ink; a platen 17 for recording, which is provided in a position to face the recording heads, and which provides a recording area; a platen 18 to be irradiated, which is provided in a position to face the photoirradiation device 8; and a fin 20 and a cooling fan 21, which are used for cooling the platen 18.
