PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood smoking furnace made easy in the feed-in/out of wood, internal inspection and maintenance as compared with a conventional one, requiring no truck, a rail or the like according to depth, also enabling the feed-in/out of long wood especially only by a forklift and/or inexpensive in its main body part to be in its turn reduced in the equipment load of the whole of smoking treatment apparatus equipment. SOLUTION: This wood smoking furnace is equipped with the box-shaped main body part 10 made of steel separately from a smoking manufacturing part for bringing wood L into contact with smoke K, steam S and/or hot water spray H to perform the smoking treatment of the wood L. An opening O is formed to one of the surfaces A maximum in the length in the horizontal direction of the main body part 10 so that the maximum length of the wood L capable of being fed in the main body part 10 is prescribed by the length in the horizontal direction of the opening O without relying on the depth or height of the main body part 10 and the length in the horizontal direction of the main body part 10 becomes almost equal to the length in the horizontal direction of each of the surfaces A.
