<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a full-color image forming apparatus capable of easily recognizing an even-numbered/odd-numbered page, on which the occurrence of abnormality is started or recognizing a front/back surface, on which abnormality occurs when the abnormality occurs in the case of transferring an image on a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: A color visible image, obtained by developing an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor belt in one or a plurality of colors, is formed and transferred to an intermediate transfer belt. As the color visible image is transferred to transfer paper, identification information identification code is hardly discriminated by human eyes and differing between the even-numbered page and the odd-numbered page is generated and added, based on even-numbered/odd-numbered page information by a write-in image processing IC 201 or identification information (identification code) hardly discriminated by human eyes and differing between the front surface and the back surface is generated and added.
