<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printing system that can print multimedia data received by a printer from a local network peripheral. <P>SOLUTION: The printing system applies a multimedia function to multimedia data to generate a printed paper or another print output and a related electronic output. The print output and electronic output provide a representation of the multimedia data. The printer can communicate with and control functions of a network device.
