PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device in which torsion moment is not added to electric wiring connecting an electric circuit inside a cabinet-side and an imaging element inside a camera module and a structure for fitting the camera module to a cabinet can be simplified, and to provide the camera module. SOLUTION: The imaging device 2 is provided with cabinets 8 and 10, the camera module 4 outputting an image pickup signal, and a display unit 12 displaying the imaging signal. The camera module has the imaging element 62; and a first reflection member 74 which is arranged on an imaging axis of the imaging element, refracts the imaging axis to a reflection axis in an almost right-angled direction, and can freely rotate with respect to the imaging element with the image pickup axis as a center. A detector 80 detecting the direction of the reflection axis is installed, and the display direction of an image that the imaging element takes in is changed, when the detector detects the prescribed direction.
