PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material having low fog, high Dmax (highest density) and low dependence on temperature and humidity during development. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has 40 mol% to 100 mol% silver iodine content in the photosensitive silver halide included in the material and contains a compound which imagewisely generates chemical species capable of forming development initiating points on and near a non-photosensitive organic silver salt.
