PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene which is manufactured by a high pressure radical polymerization process and has excellent transparency and gloss and high stiffness, and to provide a blow-molded body obtained by blow-molding it. SOLUTION: The polyethylene is manufactured by a high pressure radical polymerization process and satisfies the following prerequisite (1)-prerequisite (4), and the blow-molded body is obtained by blow-molding it. The prerequisite (1): the melt flow rate is 0.1-20 g/10 minutes. The prerequisite (2): the density is 925-940 kg/m<SP>3</SP>. The prerequisite (3): the swell ratio is 1.20-1.45. And the prerequisite (4): the ratio (Vvn/Vvd) of the numbers (Vvn) of vinyl groups per the numbers of carbons of 2,000 and the numbers (Vvd) of vinylidene groups per the numbers of carbons of 2,000, which are based on an infrared absorption spectrum, is 0.01-0.30.
