The provided multi-mode/multi-band terminal has the following characteristics: RF antenna transmitting/receiving CDMA-2000 signal and /or WCDMA signal: RF transceiver which is able to receive- the WCDMA pilot signal that the RF antenna is transmitting, and further transmit the encoded WCDMA pilot signal: a measuring system of pilot signal which measures the strength of the duplicated WCDMA and generate/ transmit Ec./Io value: WCDMA modem and CDMA-2000 modem that conducts Signal processing according to the protocol defined by WCDMA specification or CDMA-2000 specification ; a flash memory storaging switching between the WCDMA modem and the CDMA-2000 using the Ec/Io value.
