A plastic roadside verge marking rod (4) has an essentially triangular cross section with a self-adhesive aside-mounted reflector. The cross-sectional planform of the reflector is essentially that of a colored hat with a brim mounted on that side of the rod away from the road. The hat profile is open at the top and forms a pocket for a piece of foam rubber soaked in cyclohexane.
