PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish a high hardness without carrying out a quick cooling and quick heating process and the like, in a material for grinding roll used for a grinding surface plate and the like. SOLUTION: This material for grinding tool consists of an iron material containing C 0.2wt.% or more and less than 0.8wt.%; Si 1wt.% or more and 7wt.% or less; Ni 4wt.% or more and 7wt.% or less; Mn 1wt.% or less (more then 0wt.%); and Cr 1wt.% or less (more than 0wt.%); or an iron material containing C less than 0.2wt.% (more than 0wt.%); So 1.5wt.% or more and 3.5wt.% or less; Ni 7wt.% or more and 17wt.% or less; Mn 1wt.% or less (more than 0wt.%); and Cr 2wt.% or more and 4wt.% or less. There iron materials have the hardness of Hv 250 or higher. A grinding surface plate 1 consists of the above materials for grinding tool. |
