The hand tool (21) to fit a protective U-profile (22) of an elastic material, on the edges (24) of an object, has two parallel and spaced side cheeks (26), a hand grip (25) and a roller mechanism (32) to press the profile in place. A lower unit (33) opens out the profile with a wedge (34) and a lower roller unit (37) guides the tool on the edges to be covered. The wide section of the wedge is attached to the side cheeks, and the narrow section is at a gap from the press roller which matches the thickness of the back of the profile. The end of the wedge lies on a tangent between the inner side of the profile back and the guide side of the lower roller guide unit. |
