The electrode welding machine (18) has at least one lever mechanism (41) to deliver the movement force to one electrode to alter the welding gap width, in a direction (K) towards the other electrode. The lever mechanism has an angled link (42), rotating on an axis (G) at a link point (68). A second linkage (44) has a link point (70) at the angled link, to swing around an axis (H) at one end, and with a link point (72) at the other end with a swing movement around an axis (J) at the mounting (28) for the moving electrode (26) against the fixed electrode (24).
