A fuel cell comprises solid oxide type fuel cell element (15) having solid electrolyte layer with respective faces, cathode layer (11) formed on one of faces of solid electrolyte layer (13), anode layer (12) formed on the other face of the solid electrolyte layer, and mesh-shaped metal or wire-shaped metal. The element generates electricity when the solid oxide type fuel cell element is arranged in flame (20) or in portion close to the flame. Fuel cell comprises solid oxide type fuel cell element having solid electrolyte layer with respective faces, cathode layer formed on one of the faces of the solid electrolyte layer, anode layer formed on the other face of the solid electrolyte layer, and mesh-shaped metal or wire-shaped metal embedded in or fixed to anode layer or cathode layer to reinforce the anode or cathode layer. The element generates electricity when the solid oxide type fuel cell element is arranged in a flame or in portion close to the flame. The solid electrolyte layer is made of porous material having porosity less than 10% so that cracks cannot be caused on the solid electrolyte layer through sudden temperature change in the cell. |
