Process for automatically localizing lesions (1) in the gastrointestinal tract comprises taking pictures of surface images of the gastrointestinal tract using a camera of an endo-robot, transferring to a computer, analyzing the surface images, calculating control signals based on a known lesion, transferring the signals to a robot control device and/or to a laser system of the robot, and adjusting the laser beam alignment and surface parameter based on the control signals.
