Impairment in the function of a source (6) of sound/piezoelectric disk through possible water or other impurities is reduced or completely avoided in the area of the source of sound. The source of sound is attached to a pick-up element (7) suitably fitted opposite the horizontal with regard to a vertical mounting position for a signal transmitter or spherical cap (1). An independent claim is also included for a signal transmitter with a spherical cap.
