An optical pickup is provided to maintain stable characteristics without changing braking features, since fixing points of wires do not change even though a lens holder moves, and to make stylobate-side fixing points of the wires nearer to a fixing point of the lens holder to set a higher resonant frequency, thereby coping with a high-speed driving process of a disk. A gel box(3) has a concave portion(9a) opened in side direction to fill a buffer material(7), and has a notch portion(23) connected with the concave portion(9a) on a side opposite to a substrate(1). Plural through holes(1a) are comprised on the substrate(1). Stylobate sides of wires(2) are inserted through the through holes(1a). The wires(2) are disposed to be received in the concave portion(9a) of the gel box(3), and are soldered on the substrate(1) on a surface of a lens holder(4). The substrate(1) and the gel box(3) are fixed by a fixing member. While the substrate(1) and the gel box(3) are fixed, a gap(G) is formed by the notch portion(23) between the substrate(1) and the gel box(3). The wires(2) are soldered from a side direction through the gap(G).
