Novel 1,4-diazabicyclo (4,4,0) decanes (and addition salts thereof) of the general formula wherein R is a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, R 1 and R 2 each represent a hydrogen atom, a phenyl radical, a cyclohexyl radical, or one of them may be a hydroxyl radical, Ar represents an unsubstituted phenyl radical or a phenyl radical substituted by a halogen atom, a halogenomethyl radical, a lower alkyl radical containing up to 5 carbons, one or more alkoxy groups containing up to 5 carbons, or an alkylenedioxy group and n is 0, 1 or 2, are prepared by the interaction of a derivative of the general formula Z-(CH 2 ) n -CR 1 R 2 Ar, in which Z is chlorine or bromine or the residue of an arylsulphonic ester, and the appropriate diazobicyclo-decane having an >NH bond at the 4-position. Pharmaceutical compositions having musculotropic spasmolytic, adrenolytic, anticholinergic, antihistaminic or antiserotonin properties contain as the active ingredient the above novel compounds and are administered orally, rectally or parenterally.</p> |
