A seat of a vehicle is provided to prevent a passenger from getting a whiplash injury but simplify the structure by installing an elastic body on one side of either a seat back frame or a side frame and a guide unit on the other side to guide the elastic body and by supporting the passenger's head through shifting the head rest forward in a back collision but shifting the head rest back to the original position with somewhat resistance generated after the back collision. A seat of a vehicle comprises a seat cushion; a seat back installed to slope against the seat cushion; a head rest installed on upper part of the seat back; a pair of side frames(4) installed on the seat cushion frame; and a seat back frame(6) installed on the side frame through a rotation hinge disposed between the two frames. An elastic body(30) is installed on either the seat back frame or the side frame. A guide hole(20a) is bored on the other frame to guide the elastic body. A recessed unit is formed on front end portion of the guide hole to support the elastic body. Usually, the elastic body is inserted into the recessed unit to support the seat back frame by the side frame. In a back collision, the elastic body deformed and separated from the recessed unit is shifted backward along the guide hole and the seat back frame is fluctuated around the rotation hinge to shift the head rest forward.
