Adjusting the performance capability of rack-mounted data processing equipment in dependence on the application being run

The application relates to rack mounted data processing equipment where individual racks have controllers 115,125,135 and there is a master controller 150 which together are used to adjust the cababilites of parts of the equipment in dependence on the application. Various parameters can be controlled including clock rates and voltages and selective shut down is described.
