[Also in Division H2] Lampholders for a luminous panel 1 each comprise a transparent or translucent body 12 with contacts 17, 18 which engage, respectively, a screw-threaded contact 7 and a contact shoulder 5a of a lamp 3. The body 12 is located in a panel aperture, a retaining ring 21 being threaded on the contact 18 and abutting the front face of the panel, and terminals 14, 15 of the contacts 17, 18 being soldered to printed circuitry on a board 20 which lies against the rear face of the panel. In a modification (Fig. 5, not shown) the printed circuit board 20 and the retaining ring 21 are omitted, the terminals 14, 15 being soldered to lead wires (22), which lie in recesses in the rear face of the panel, and the contact 18 having a flange (23) which abuts the front face of the panel. An opaque mask (24) covers the end of the body 12 at the rear of the panel. In both arrangements the lamp contacts 5, 7 are respectively crimped and cemented to a hollow insulating body 6 in which the wedge of a capless bulb 8 is cemented. |
