A complementary metal oxide semiconductor image sensor and a method for detecting signal thereof are provided to photograph effectively a moving picture by reading out an output signal of a sensor at the beginning of an integration time. A photocharge generating element generates and accumulates a charge by absorbing a light from the outside. A transistor unit having one or more transistor processes the charge accumulated in the photocharge generating element. A current detecting circuit provided at the output end of the transistor unit detects a current signal level according to the generation of charge of the photocharge generating element.
