METHOD FOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE OF DIGITAL BROADCASTING RECEIVER

A method of upgrading software of a digital broadcast receiver is provided to reduce a time period for upgrading the software by transmitting only the software related to changed and added parts of a product by using a ground wave signal of a broadcast station. Only changed and added parts of software in a digital broadcast receiver are encoded and then transmitted to a broadcast station. The encoded software is multiplexed with a broadcast signal transmitted from the broadcast station and thereby transmitted to the digital broadcast receiver. The broadcast station extracts software that corresponds to changed and added parts of the digital broadcast receiver from a signal transmitted to the digital broadcast receiver and thereby upgrades initial software of the digital broadcast receiver.
