A liquid drop-discharging device has a head unit with a liquid drop-discharging head, a head unit-supporting body (61) for supporting the head unit, an X-axis direction moving mechanism (6) for moving the head unit-supporting body (61), and a head drive/control portion (130) for driving and controlling the liquid drop- discharging head. The head drive/ control portion (130) is mounted on the head unit-supporting body (61) and movable with the head unit relative to a device body. Provided are a liquid drop-discharging device where noise generation in the transmission of drawing pattern data can be constrained and a liquid drop-discharging head can be accurately driven, an electro- optical device produced using the liquid drop-discharging device, a method of producing an electro-optical device by means of the liquid drop- discharging device, and an electronic instrument with the electro-optical device.
